Meet Spot provides a hassle-free, simple solution that puts all the things needed to organize meetups with colleagues, friends and family in one place. You can create an event, invite people, collaborate to finalize the venue, meet and celebrate.
I was responsible for thinking about the problem, conducting user interviews, collecting user feedback, testing the protype with the users. I was involved from Empathy phase to the Test phase of the project.
We often want to meet colleagues, friends and family but cannot because the process of coordinating is very challenging, time-consuming and frustrating. It is very difficult to keep everyone informed about the current state of the plan. There are various factors that we need to consider – personal preferences, distance to the venue, budget, and time at hand. We use various mechanisms to collaborate. It is cumbersome to split the cost and communicate to people to make their contribution.
Meet Spot provides a simple solution using three main features - Create, collaborate and meet.
The main challenges were consolidating varied inputs from the initial user interviews, defining information architecture based on the card sorting feedback, using new tools for wireframing, prototyping etc. and picking the features for the minimum viable product.
Lot of time was spent on analyzing the competitive landscape, doing user interviews and organizing the data. The feedback from the interviews was very broad. Different people had different priorities like some wanted to see the upcoming events and some wanted more focus the account settlement etc. Card sorting also showed very varied results. We decided to solve the problem only for office goers so that we can focus on creating a simple app.
As part of our research we did lots of user interviews, competitive analysis and then came up with a few personas. After extensive brainstorming, we finalized the MVP. One of the key outcomes of the user interviews was the pain points of the users. This was very helpful when we were finalizing the MVP.

We created peronas based on the user interviews and other information that we had gathered. The key takeaway for us was that there is lots of interest in a solution that can be easy to use and saves time organizing things.
We did an extensive analysis of competing products in the market. We shortlisted three main competitors - Lunch Click, Tossup and Yelp. We saw that the features that were planned for Meet Spot were not supported by any of the applications completely.

Card Sorting - We used OptimalSort to do the card sorting so that we can reach broader audience in a short period of time.
A sitemap to convey the hierarchy of the application and improve the navigation.
With all the information gathered, we started generating low fidelity wireframes. These wireframes helped show the client a visual representation of the complex structure of the application and most importantly, how the user will interact with it.
The visual design focussed on design that is aesthetically fresh and appealing, but also usable. Here are some of the visuals of the final product. Please visit the prototype to interact with the application.
The mobile application was very huge success with the limited release. At present, the project is being enhanced based on the first round of feedback.
