GOAL : To refresh the Paypal Global Design System in order to create scalable and global products that
support PayPal brand strategy. To create simple, intuitive, friendly and accessible experiences for the users.

MY ROLE:
Review the existing Design System.
Identify 10 pages from different PayPal products for design refresh.
Design Refresh had 5 unique concepts: Tiles, Borderless, Venice, Wild Card Fresh and Wild Card Color. I worked on the “Borderless” concept.

PROBLEM:
Inconsistent design leading to greater cognitive load for the users.
Difficulty in finding the relevant information.

CHALLENGES:
Converting the older designs to new designs using the elements in the design system.
Making the design scalable for multiple platforms for product that were only optimized for one platform.
Identifying gaps and adding new design elements to the existing system.
Co-ordinating with different product teams.

SOLUTION:
Combining the key elements of different concepts like Borderless, Tiles, Wild Card (Fresh and Color) and Venice into one final
concept “Familial“.
One Universal Design system for all of the PayPal products and services.

GOAL : To create global and consistent user experience for all the Merchant products.
MY ROLE:
Review the existing product flows.
Audit and create a flow diagram for existing flows.
Co-ordinate with user research (UER) , content and legal teams to reduce complexity in the
flows.
Identify the areas of improvement - like reorganizing content in a section.
Enhance and redesign the flows using the PayPal’s 3IB (Three in the box - Product Owner,
User Experience Design and Engineering) approach by working with these key players.
Review the final product developed based on the design with Engineering team and work
with them to close the loop on any new business needs or changes.
PROBLEM:
Very long forms are not broken down further, where posible.
Mixed and unclear hierarchy of content, actions and CTA’s.
Inconsistent design leading to greater cognitive load for the users.

CHALLENGES:
Co-ordinating with different teams and delivering the approved design on time.
Understanding the interactions that are possible in the flow and accommodating them in the design.
Identifying the important elements and repositioning the less important content to give prominence to the important elements.
